Grandma's secrets.

Assalamualaykum.

Ever wasted your money on beauty products that don't work on you?
Fret not as this post might have something to offer.
Beauty care and women, simply can't be separated.

I have been meaning to share this with everyone the moment I read the article by Syida Litza Amirul Ihsan. (NST Life&Times, Aug 14)
And since I could not find the article in its web,(to simply copy and paste) so I took a longer time to re-type the petua for you.
My super busy week has ended when my students sat for their last UPSR English paper last Wednesday.
Phewwww~

Yeah, I agree that these recipes are not clinically proven.
Be cool. No harm in trying, right?
These are our grandmothers secret beauty solution to everything.
Plus you can simply get the ingredients straight out of your kitchen.
Not that they'll cost you a fortune. :)
So, here goes... ~

To achieve smooth skin:
Try mashing a ripe tomato (as you would potatoes). Then plaster the paste on your face, just like the facial mask. Let it dry for 20 minutes before rinsing with cold water. Do it 2-3 times a week.

Or, you can mix a little tamarind with warm water and a spoonful of tapioca flour. Mix until it becomes thick before smothering it on your face. Let it dry for 15 minutes and then rinse.

For porcelain-like skin:
Drink pegaga juice mixed with carrot. It may not the sweetest-tasting drink but it's healthy and natural. (Don't add sugar! Won't do the trick.)

Elastic skin??:
Mix tapioca flour and mashed cucumber and add a little water to dilute the mixture. Use itlike a face mask and rinse once it is dry. The cool essence of cucumber will also help refresh the tired skin.

Wrinkle problem:
Carrots help. Add a spoonfulof corn flour to a small bowl of grated carrot and add one egg yolk. After mixing well, the mixture is pasted on wrinkled skin. Do it once everyday for best results.

Long lashes:
Mascara?? Extensions?! No need those as you can try using some aloe vera essence and stroke it on your lashes before going to bed. Do it frequently and Insya Allah your lashes will be long and healthy.

To avoid hair falling:
Take a few hibiscus leaves and aloe vera. Wash them and blend until the mixture becomes slimy. Rub the mixture onto your scalp and hair and wait for an hour before rinsing. Do it twice a week and in time, your hair will become thick and shiny.

Dandruff?!:
Squeeze kaffir lime (limau purut) or lime juice on the scalp and leave for a few hours. Better still, wrap your hair in towel. Rinse with warm water.

Cracked heels:
Try bathing your feet in a pool of warm water with asam gelugor. Do it for 30 minutes every day until your heels heal.

To get rid of tired eyes:
Sliced cucumbers (refrigerated) or used teabags placed on your eyes for 20 minutes will do the trick. Eyes will feel cool and fresh. Just remember to line the teabags with a piece of tissue before placing them on your eyes. Or else the raccoon effect will be visible. :)

"Selamat Mencuba!!"

Wassalam~

  2. Hi Fizzy dear,

What a refreshing facelift!! Change is good always. This new look has that very light minimalist image. Like it.

This is a good entry. It is amazing isn't it, that we can find all sorts of remedies right in our own kitchen. It's just that most times we are lazy and find it easier just to squeeze the readied commercial tubes of expensive off the counter cosmetics. I'm feeling all guilty as I write...ha ha ha! Have a nice rest of week dear.

    Mwah..

i think the simplest petua is the pegaga-carrot juice.. tapi kalau campur orange sket boleh ke? coz i dont like d taste of carrot.. boleh la bole la.. pretty pls?!! hehe..

nak tmbah satu lagi petua, tapi ni org putih yg kasi.. kalau mau bersantai di pantai & wanna get urself a nice brownish-orangy tan. bukan hitam terus(like jadi oren bronze2 la, x berkilat hitam), eat / drink lotsa carrots. sekian.
