Love?

Assalamualaykum

I got this from my friend's blog.
Actually I could just put a link in the entry, but permission's given by the author for me to paste her post in my blog. (thanks, love!)
Anyhoo, it's a good topic you know.
I wanted to touch on this issue too, but since I haven't had any experience in this 'field' so I thought I could wait.
But heck, just read my friend Nadea's blurb. Correction, wise words.

How soon is too soon?

So your eyes met across the hall. He checked you out several times. You watched his every movement from the corner of your eyes, discreetly, of course. He came towards you, nearer. You pura2 tak notice, shy la konon. He came up to you, saying hi. You smiled and said hi back. He asked for your name, your fon number, said you have the nicest smile he has ever seen and all of the other famous pick up lines. He tore himself away, minutes later, your fon number in hand and promised to call. You and your butterflies in the stomach went home.

So you went out on the first, second and third date and convinced yourself this is not just another fling. Came the third week after the first date he professed his undivided love for you. You felt like you were on top of the world. "I finally met the man of my dreams", you thought. You declare that day as the day you guys become a couple.

You started calling each other the obligatory 'sayang', or 'bee' or whatever trendy terms of endearment you kids use today, a few days
later.

You celebrated your 1-month anniversary. He wrote that he never met anyone as special as you. He declared his undying love from the bottom of his heart and said he could never love anyone else as he did you. You complied.

2 months later, you broke up. No more. Nada. You started calling each other names, bad names. You left him angry emails or voice messages.

Total pre-couple period = 3 weeks
Total undying love period = 3 months
Real time and energy spent = countless

Was it really worth it?

=|

Assalamualaykum.

In the spirit of sharing, this is what I got from browsing through Jakim's web.
Hopefully this can be a guide to us all.

Q:
My friends and I enjoy celebrating occasions, which are not in the Islamic calender like St. Valentines's Day, because we just like to be part of the joyous atmosphere. We've been told that this is not encouraged in Islam. My question is what does Islam has to say about celebrating such occasions? Please give me some advice. Thank you.

A:
Celebrating Valentine Day is not suitable to the Islamic moral values that usually encourage Muslims to live in a loving family life according to Islamic law. Muslims who do not fulfill their responsibilities in the Islamic way are sinful. According to the historical point of view, Valentine's Day is not an Islamic practice.

Hence why bother celebrating it?
Everyday can be a 14th of February, don't we think?
Roses bloom throughout the whole year.
One does not need a specific date to celebrate the so-called "lover's day".

a 'MATCH' made in Heaven!!

Assalamualaykum.

This morning after the game I couldn't wait to get online.
It seemed like there were so many things I wanted to write in today's entry.
But now, my mind just got numb.
I'm too overwhelmed to write.
Too proud of the Italians winning The Cup.
A bit over reacting,eyy?

For y'all out there, yours truly even shed tears after the game ended.
Tears of joy, that is.
Finally I got to know how 'menangis kerana gembira' felt.
The cause of my emotional act was because I feel that the Azzurris had gone through a lot this WC.
The scandals with their Serie A,the tribunals they've got to face, etc.
Even so, I think the pressure got them together as one.
I was touched to see how they played as a team.
The cooperation [especially the defenders] was superb.
Their fighting spirit was just AMAZING.
The BEAUTY of football was right in front of my very eyes this morning.

Okay, now I'm getting excited to write more, so bare with me.

I don't fancy France since the '98 WC.
I know they've got great players namely Zizou, Vieira, Barthez etc..
They progressed the next couple of years by winning Euro 2000 but that was it.
WC 2002 was a total disaster for Les Bleus.
But this time around they bucked up.
Henry did well, he managed to score a few goals in Germany 2006.
Good for him.
The sad fact is, I think Les Bleus won the matches by chance most of the time.
And they were too dependant on their maestro capitan Zinedine Zidane.
Without old Zizou, Les Bleus seemed lost.
[The same with Portugal without L.Figo but that's another story.]
This opinion of mine might hurt those who've been supporting France, but hey.. it's a free country we live in.
People critisized Ronaldo(Cristiano) too, and I accepted it 'almost' professionally. [he he he]

I'm just too happy with the result-lah.
There's no further explanation to that.
It was a beautiful game, most memorable one yet very nerve-racking.
Called my Azzurri's partner in crime right after the final *PSO.
Man, I could barely hear her voice as she was crying too.
[You were..right, Azi? I know I was.. =)]

I'm posting some pictures of the game.
Right after I Photoshop-ed them.
Till then, have a great day today.
I know I will.
Wassalam.

*Penalty Shoot Out.

defeated!!

Assalamualaykum.

I missed the game this morning, and regretting it badly.
Even though Portugal lost the battle against the Germany who played on the home ground, I think there's always some hope in the future.
Euro 2008's coming, and I surely hope 'Big Phil' Scolari will stay by the Potuguese's side.
I'm so devastated, I can't write any longer.
Just go to fifaworldcup.com to get the details regarding the match.
Yes, Portugal was defeated 3-1.
*crying out loud*

Well, let's get this football frenzy over and done with early tomorrow morning.
Azzurri will play against Les Bleus and my bet's definitely NOT on the latter.
The Italians have gone through rough time this WC and I think they deserve to win.
Unless lady luck brings good fortune again for the French.
Then that'll leave the Azzurris open mouthed~

Forza Azzurri & Au Revoir Les Bleus!!

tribute

Assalamualaykum.

As promised, these are a few pix of the 'obnoxious' Cristiano Ronaldo.
[That's what he was referred as in NST].
Give him a break, people.
Darah muda, hence the nasty attitude.
No doubt he's a great football player.
Please excuse the pix as most of them only show his back.

crushed!

If only Henry had not been tackled
If only Zidane did not ace the penalty kick
If only Ronaldo was pushed down in the penalty box
If only Figo got the ball straight into the goal
If only LUCK was on Portugal's side
Then I wouldn't feel so down this morning.

Assalamualaykum.

It's been a while since my last post.
Well, blame the internet connection at my workplace.
There was a problem with the server last week hence no connection with the outside world pour moi the whole of last week.
But I had great time watching football.
Quarter final match when France defeated Brazil and the awesome semi final match Germany against Italy.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
The latter brings joy the most.
The last 2-minutes of the extra timed game was just amazing.

But, sad to say my second choice Portugal lost their battle early this morning.
I was crushed.*crying out loud*
That's why the short poem came up.
I was so devastated with their lost I didn't watch the last 5 minutes of the game.
Looking at the French vigorous defence team, I didn't think Portugal could break them easily.
Shheeesh~
And the verdict was as expected.
Portugal lost 1-nil to France.
Man, I hate France so much.
They are sooooooooo lucky!!!

All's been done, so I just hope the Portuguese will buck up and defeat Germany in the next match for third place.
Will be posting the pix of MY man in action [Cristiano Ronaldo] later.
Something wrong with blogger now I can't upload anymore pix.
So, until next time....
FORZA ITALIA!!! (he he he)

Wassalam.
