assalamualaykum..
being an English teacher doesn't mean that i am GOOD in English..
seriously.
i am not.
it's just that i really love the language, and i prefer to write in English..
i know i can express things better (in Bahasa)..
but i chose not to..
reason being, my English [both writing+speaking] are deteriorating at a rapid pace..
why? because i believe in 'practice makes perfect'..
in order to be good in any language,one must practice and use it regularly.
then only we'll master the language.
fyi, i even teach English in Bahasa @SK Sungai Lerek..
it's not that i hadn't try, but seeing those BLANK faces really demotivated me.
so, Bahasa Melayu it is.. [kelate dialect once in a while..]
how am i going to improve my English?
i can't even apply the language when and where i'm supposed to..
hence [in my humble opinion], blogging in English helps slowering the pace.
notice that i'm using VERY simple English all the time..
'cause that's all i'm capable of, people..
compare if you must..with this and this for instance.
there are a lot of differences between my writing and theirs.
don't you think?
wish i could write as good as them...
and speak likewise..

not that i just came back from hawaii,
but loafing @home for a week gave me almost the same feeling..
[even though i haven't gone to waikiki beach or anywhere overseas for that matter!]

as i always say, a week long break is not enough for a lazy teacher like moi..
my boss datuk seri hishamuddin [ministry of edu.] should give me a month break.
then again, at the end of the month, i would surely be asking for a year break instead..
haha..

a comment by eddie in my last post urged me to write..
not that he asked me to, but i felt the need to post something at least..
well, i haven't heard from him for quite a while, that's why..
kind of miss my old and best buddy, edwin..
was so touched when he left a message cum comment in my blog..
though 'twas extremely short..

Anwar dapat RM4.5 juta

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim diberi ganti rugi berjumlah RM4.5 juta selepas memenangi kes saman fitnah terhadap penulis buku 50 Dalil Mengapa Anwar Tidak Boleh Jadi PM, Datuk Khalid Jafri dan isterinya.
Ganti rugi yang diperoleh Anwar itu adalah antara yang tertinggi dalam sejarah perundangan negara.Hakim Mahkamah Tinggi, Datuk Mohd Hishamuddin Mohd Yunos, ketika membaca keputusannya berkata, mahkamah menilai ganti rugi itu selepas mengambil kira yang dakwaan dalam buku berkenaan bukan saja banyak, tetapi juga sangat berniat jahat terhadap seseorang yang memegang jawatan tinggi dalam kerajaan dan politik seperti Anwar.
"Malah tidak ada sebarang permohonan maaf daripada defendan, dan terus ingkar sehingga hari ini."
"Ganti rugi yang diberikan mestilah membayangkan sejauh mana teruk dakwaan defendan dan juga sejauh mana kesan yang dihadapi oleh plaintif dan keluarga kerana dakwaan itu,"katanya.
Anwar memperoleh RM4 juta sebagai ganti rugi fitnah, RM500,000 kerana berlaku konspirasi sehingga membawa mudarat, serta kos.Anwar, 58, menamakan Abdul Khalid @ Khalid Jafri Bakar Shah sebagai defendan pertama; isterinya, Rozihan A Ghani (yang disaman bagi pihak syarikat penerbit, Media Pulau Lagenda) sebagai defendan kedua.Pada 20 Januari lalu, mahkamah sama membenarkan saman Anwar terhadap Khalid atas dakwaan memfitnahnya.
Anwar yang disingkirkan daripada jawatan Timbalan Perdana Menteri pada 2 September 1998, mengemukakan tuntutan ganti rugi berjumlah RM6.5 juta.Saman itu difailkan pada 18 Jun 1998, dengan mendakwa kandungan buku berkenaan berniat jahat, serta penulis dan isterinya berkomplot dengan seteru-seteru politiknya untuk memfitnah beliau dengan mendakwa antara lain, beliau adalah homoseksual, seorang pemimpin yang mengamalkan rasuah, seorang penderhaka, terbabit dalam zina dan sehinggakan mempunyai seorang anak luar nikah.
Khalid tidak hadir dalam perbicaraan kes itu kerana dia kini sedang dirawat di Hospital Selayang selepas kakinya terpaksa dipotong dari paras paha baru-baru ini berikutan penyakit diabetes kronik.
Pada 8 Julai lalu, Khalid dikenakan hukuman penjara 12 bulan oleh Mahkamah Sesyen Ampang selepas didapati bersalah menulis maklumat palsu dalam buku itu.
Mohd Hishamuddin berkata, kerjaya politik Anwar musnah disebabkan penerbitan buku itu dan serangan kejam terhadapnya oleh defendan-defendan yang berkomplot dengan yang lain membawa penghinaan dan cemuhan awam selain tekanan mental kepada Anwar dan keluarganya yang begitu sukar untuk dibayangkan.
Beliau berkata, tujuan utama defendan menerbitkan buku itu ialah untuk memusnahkan reputasi plaintif dan kerjaya politiknya memandangkan ia diedarkan di Perhimpunan Agung Umno 1998.

yup, time flies so fast..yet i've so much to do..
students have just finished their exams and i've got piles of exam papers to mark..
the district education office wants us teachers to prepare a cd to introduce our school..
shheeeesshh~ that means more and more students will be neglected..
just now we had a meeting and i've to construct a website for SK Sungai Lerek..
we're entering a web competition held by maxis..
and i've been given full responsibilities to be the content manager as it has to be fully english.
+sigh+ (how i wish i was idaman or maya at this moment!)
so, if anyone can help me lessen this pressure..
do tell me a.s.a.p.
